How ancient roman invention makes Rome prosperous civilization?

In the early 8th century BC, ancient Rome was an Italic civilization which began on the Italian Peninsula that locate along the Mediterranean Sea and centered on the city of Rome. In the ancient world, it expanded with an estimated 50 to 90 million inhabitants covering 6.5 million square kilometers during its height between the first and second centuries AD to become one of the largest empires.

Roman civilization slowly shifted to a classical republic from a monarchy and then to an increasingly autocratic empire in around 12 centuries. Southern and Western Europe, Asia Minor, North Africa, and parts of Northern and Eastern Europe were dominated through conquest and assimilation. Throughout the Mediterranean region, Rome was one of the most powerful entities of the ancient world as it was preponderant. Constantly, it is grouped into classical antiquity along with ancient Greece and their assembles cultures and societies are known as the Greco-Roman world.

To the modern government, law, politics, engineering, art, literature, architecture, technology, warfare, religion, language and society an ancient Roman society was subsidized. For its time, Rome developed a system of government, which is called as res publica which was the inspiration for modern republics like United Sates and France and they specialized and increased its military which became a highly developed civilization at the time.

Beyond its domain which is extended from the Atlantic to Arabia and from the mouth of the Rhine to North Africa, Rome had to be surmounted the lands around the Mediterranean by the end of the republic. In 92 BC, 721 years of Roman-Persian start war, which was their first war against Parthia and the Roman empire emerged under the leadership of Augustus Caesar. For both empires, the war would become the longest conflict in human history along with major lasting effects and consequences. In a third century crisis, states like Palmyra divide temporarily the Empire into Western and Eastern halves and soldier emperors reunified it. In the 5th century, the western part of the empire splits down into independent kingdoms as various migrating people attacks Plagued by internal instability. This was a landmark historians which is used to fracture the ancient period of universal history from the pre-mediaeval “Dark Ages” of Europe.

At its time, Rome was the largest urban city with a population of about one million people, which is about the size of London in the early 19th century when it was known as the largest city in the world. In the view of the class structure, Roman society is viewed as hierarchical where slaves were at the bottom, freedmen above them and free-born citizens at the top. However, free citizens were also divided into class and the broadest and earliest division was between the patricians which become less important in the later Republic. The reason behind this is because of some patrician families fell on hard times and some plebeian families became wealthy and entered politics. Based on the military, a class division became more important and according to property, membership was determined periodically by the Censors. In the class of Senatoria, wealthiest who dominated politics and command of the army were divided. And those who could afford a warhouse were divided into the equestrian classes and who formed powerful were classified into mercantile. Beside that, there are several classes which are based on what military equipment their members could afford, followed, with the Proletarii. And those who have no property were at the bottom.

In the case of the Roman’s invention and achievement, the ancient Romans are best on adopting every good idea that they saw. The Romans have a unique character that is if other people doing something is better than the Roman, then Romans changed their ways in order to make it the best way. According to their view, if there is something good then they immediately copied it and one of the examples would be the myths of the Greek gods. Some of the amazing Greek gods are like Zeus, who was the most powerful all among the gods as he was not afraid of anyone or anything except his wife. Queen Hera, who was the sister and wife of Zeus and was the goddess of marriage, children, and the home. She could be very mean when she gets extremely jealous. The lord of the sea is referring to the Poseidon as he was the brother of Zeus and very powerful. The Greek specialties who lived along the coast were scared of Poseidon as he could make a new island if he raised his hand. Another brother of Zeus is the Hade who was the lord of the underworld and Ares was the son of Zeus, who was known as the god of war as he was tall and handsome but cruel and vain. Hermes was another son of Zeus, who was also known as the messenger of the gods and the other god also trusted him. Apollo known as the god of the sun, light and music and he is the son of Zeus. Artemis was known as the goddess of the hunt and she was the Apollo’s twin sister who was very cold but loved her dogs. The goddess of wisdom is known to the Athena and the goddess of hearth and home was referred to the Hestia who is a sister of Hera. Probably, all the ancient Greek woman prefers Hestia as the most important goddess as she gave them a great feeling of comfort. Demeter was known as the goddess of the harvest who is another sister of Hera. The god of wine and civilization, law and calm behavior refers to Dionysus. The goddess of love and beauty was known for Aphridite and the god of fire and forge was known for Hephaestus, who was the son of Zeus and Hera and the husband of Aphrodite. Although, he made all the royal palaces on Mount Olympus, but his creation greater creation was Pandora. Heracles also known as the half god as he was half man and son of Zeus. Perseus is also known as half god as he was also half man and he was a son of a princess of the city-state Argos and his father was the king of all the gods, the mighty Zeus. The goddess of love was known for Eros, who was the son of Aphrodite and he carried a bow and arrow. Moreover, there are more amazing Greek god and they are like Orpheus, Pandora, Pegasus, Cerberus, The Minotaur and Helios. Roman copied all these stories by changing the names of the Gods after they heard the myths of the Greeks they made them Roman gods. However, they didn’t copy the Greek gods exactly, but they just added the Greek gods to them. They asserted to the Greek that they had always been Roman gods in order to add Roman personalities to the Greek gods. In the view of the ancient Romans, they never gave any other civilization credit for invention as they have invented everything in Rome.

Moreover, they also copied the idea of lipstick and cosmetics from other people. Nobody’s, know about the first ancient civilization to use cosmetics in order to enhance natural appearances. Although, they were best of copying other peoples ideas but they did invent something themselves. In the case of architecture, the ancient Romans invent many new techniques and equipment for building and construction of all types covering concrete, Roman roads, Roman arches ad aqueducts. As the Romans were great believers in healthy living they launch public health programs to make sure that all the people to get medical help. Romans spread their tradition and language such as many languages which is also known as Latin across Europe, Southwest Asia, and North Africa. Latin refers to the root of all the romance languages covering English, French, and Spanish. In the case of law and politics, Romans include the law which states a person is innocent until proven guilty. In the case of Literature, theater and art, Romans invent a loud and a rude sort of sarcastic approach to comic theater which is known as Satire. Virgil’s Aeneid, realistic statues, ornate jewelry, masks, mosaics was first invented by the Romans. They invent customs which include the use of rings in order to denote friendship, engagements, and weddings, and the use of greenery to decorate during winter holidays. Also, they start exchanging gifts on the first day of the new year and other holiday customs. They were first to invent Roman Calender and in the case of clothing, they invent socks, which is called as soccus by the ancient Romans which can e both worn by women and men. All kinds of shoes which include the hobnailed shoe and a bunch of neat hats were invented by Roman. Roman invents many games like ball games including knuckleball and hoops and many boards.

Hence, all these roman invention had turned to Rome prosperous civilization.
